There are times when a career that is glittering hides some of the darkest tales. Winner of the USA and World Championships in the event of a hurdle, Lolo Jones has reached her present position following lots of effort and immense amount of patience. Jones was born to a single mother that included five kids living in difficult circumstances in her early years, went through an extremely challenging childhood. Jones lived with her mom in the basement of a church. This nomadic life forced Jones to change schools and attend one of the schools every year until the time she entered in high school. Jones who was interested in the track events in Theodore Roosevelt High School, was able to live away from her mother to pursue her interests. Jones lived in four different houses during her highschool years in order to study in one place. Jones is a cellist of the school's orchestra and winner of the Gatorade athletes of Iowa's track and field year earned her the Gatorade Iowa Athlete Award towards the time of her graduation from the high school year. Jones, when she went to college, was considered one of the best hurdlers. She was the winner of the 100-meter hurdles during the 2002 NCAA Track & Field Championship. In addition, she was in the team which finished 2nd in the 100-meter relay event. Jones won the NCAA Indoor Hurdles event in the years 2003 and in 2004. Jones started her track and field career after she completed her university studies. She was a winner in both races, including the Torino Memorial and the Heusden Track events in the same year.
Growing up at home in Cape Town South Africa Brandt immigrated with her family to Auckland New Zealand in her late teens. Discovered by local casting directors Brandt assumed the character of Naevia on the Starz smashes Spartacus: Blood and Sand as well as Spartacus: Gods of the Arena. Her performance was a hit with audiences and the producers Steven S. D Knight, Sam Raimi and Sam Raimi. Mazikeen, a fan-favorite Vertigo/DC Comic book character and Vertigo/DC's show Lucifer was her character on the cult Netflix show. Lucifer has broken to record binge levels and was named the show with the highest binge count in 2021 by Forbes. Brandt's next appearance will be in an episode of six in the Walking Dead spinoff in 2024 with Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurrira. In the July 2023 season of Netflix adult animated series Captain Fall, Brandt stars with Jason Ritter Anthony Carrigan Chris Meloni. Lesley-Ann Brandt was conceived on 2nd December 1981, in Cape Town South Africa. She's quite an accomplished New Zealand actress. Lesley Brandt, along with her entire family moved in Auckland New Zealand back in 1999. It was her first day working in Auckland as a wholesaler later being elevated as an IT manager. Lesley began her journey with commercials following a number of models assignments. In 2008, she graduated from her degree in acting and further trained in Meisner methods of studying. Lesley's very first major acting role was in the New Zealand TV drama Diplomatic Immunity. Lesley Brandt appeared in the New Zealand drama Shortland Street in the role of a guest supporting part. She then appeared in the science-fiction crime thriller This Is Not My Life which is based on the anecdote of Waimoana. Lesley Brandt starred in the drama series Spartacus: Blood and Sand as Naevia as a hostage. She later appeared in the Spartacus: Gods of the Arena miniseries.
